Hy Everyone! I've finally had a chance to spend some time with the "new" MiniFreak. Honestly, I really like that one. As usual, no external effects, just a limiter and a bit off low cut (It can get ugly sometimes XD) on the whole material. Everything was recorded track by track to Ableton. Countdown to the golden-eared showing up here in the comments with some crap like “…they sound nothing alike…” and almost always with something about “…the low end…”. Those people are the low end.
VST sounds fine. The amplifier circuitry on the Roland keyboard will always color the sound to varying degrees depending on things like electrolytic caps that have been slowly drying out over the past 40+ years. This VST has a good vibe.
Also, the fact, that you can't easily set the faders/knobs values on the original, as in the software. So this and the AD/DA conversion can make the difference too. Anyway, Arturias Juno is still one of my favourite "incarnations" of the original.
Waiting on my new Beast, an old synth with newly invigorating sounds!

Great demo and all but from a purely sound standpoint I am surprised how thin these patches are. Lacks punch and warmth I would’ve expected from DS :/
I had a juno60 for several years. It could sound both cheesy and also very good. The vst version sounds the same in the mix.

A lot of videos/youtubers never really show the capabilities of instruments. But just cheap talk, and crappy examples of sound. This one made me buy it. Now i just have to step up 😂

A deceptively deep box of tricks & portable too. First synth I lusted over was an sh09 so I maybe biased on this one. Great track 👌 how such a huge sound comes out of such a tiny box is beyond me. Think Roland did good with this one.

How did you get Pigments to play multiple midi channels at the same time? I've been looking at the Keystep Pro because I like the way the sequencer works, but I want to use it with a software synth (I have Pigments, but also looking at Ableton Live).
You set each track on the KSP to a different midi channel and then each separate hardware or software instrument to the corresponding track you want it to play on. The first track can either have a melodic instrument or drums, so technically you can have the sequencer of track 1 on one midi channel and then drums on another and have track 1 play 2 different instruments with channels 2-4 having 1 instrument each. The drum channel supports 16 drum parts and you can either have each part have its own separate midi channel or have all the drums on one channel together.
Hi and sorry for the late reply, though times... Exactly like markmanter6508 wrote, you can play 4 (hardware or software) instruments at the same time.

add a tiny bit of spatializer or a beautiful reverb, boost 2-3db around 100-200hz and 7000-12000hz, add saturation with a tiny bit of distortion to it or maybe a tiny bit of chorus, and the 6v should match the Juno 60???

hej Hunart...z ciekawosci wszedlem na Twoj kanal po tym jak subskrybowalas moj. Mamy lub mielismy wspolne instrumenty. Co mnie zdumiewa mnie ta czystosc dzwieku z twoich DEMO. Ja takiej przejrzystosci osiagnac nie potrafie. Jesli masterujesz sam wszystko to napisz mi jak ty to zrobiles :)
Cześć! Generalnie nic takiego nie robię. W trakcie lat wymieniałem kilka razy interfejs audio, podczas nagrań głównie korzystałem z Roland Quad oraz Octa Capture (ale to to samo), później UA-S10, a teraz SSL2+. Staram się tylko wysterować odpowiednio poziom, później ustawiam panoramę (też nie zawsze) i poziomy. Na całości jest tylko limiter (obecnie od D-16) i bardzo rzadko jakieś mało inwazyjne EQ, które podcina trochę najniższe pasmo. Nie ma kompresji oraz zewnętrznych efektów, a tam gdzie są, dodaję info do opisu :)

Couldn't you directly record over USB into the DAW without the audio interface? Just asking as I get one next Monday.
It was just a fast recording and I wanted to check the battery life and analog connections, but yes, you can send 5 audio and MIDI tracks simultaneosly into a DAW over USB.

Killer comparison. My only question is does the sliders sound granular with the stepping or is it a sweep as how the OG 60 would sound?
That's a hard question. The Juno in the video had worn out faders and it was not easy to set them equally with Arturia and that's on it's own make that question barely possible to answer :) Tha hardware faders were living their own life, the software ones were precise.
